- Mislocated welds securing the upper front suspension arm mounting brackets to the frame. The mounting bracket could break off during riding, reducing rider control and resulting in loss of control of the ATV. Loss of control could result in a crash and severe personal injury or death.

Full Description:
The 2004 model year four-wheel drive Eiger ATVs are affected by this recall. The model numbers are LT-A400FK4 (for automatic transmission) and LT-F400FK4 (for manual transmission). The ATVs with mislocated welds were produced from May 19 through May 25, 2004. The ATVs are red, yellow, or green.

Some of the ATVs were assembled with a wire harness that may have broken ground wire strands from an improperly crimped wire splice. Broken ground wire strands could result in electrical open circuits. An electrical open circuit could prevent the tail/stop lamp from illuminating or could cause the CDI-unit of the ignition to not function. If the CDI-unit does not function, the engine will stop running, possibly leaving the rider stranded away from his or her base of operation.
2002 Suzuki "Eiger" LT-F400K2 and LT-F400FK2 ATVs

The nut that secures the LT-F400K2 and LT-F400FK2 clutch shoe will come loose during operation. When the nut loosens, the clutch shoe will become loose on the crankshaft. In some cases this will cause severe damage to the clutch wheel and crankshaft or can cause the crankshaft to break. This will interrupt power transfer from the engine to the transmission and the drive wheels and may leave the rider stranded away from his or her base of operation.
